Description: Established by decision of the Council of Finance Ministers of the West African Monetary Union (WAMU) in 1998, the West African Asset Management Company (SOAGA SA) is the first sub-regional financial institution specializing in the management of assets.

SOAGA is the result of the desire of the governments of the countries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) to actively contribute to the mobilization of savings for the financing of investments and the revitalization of the sub-regional financial market.

It was the West African Development Bank (BOAD) that was given the mandate to carry out the project and eventually lead the creation of SOAGA and all the institutions that constituted its social capital accompanied the initiative alongside the BOAD.

A public limited company with a Board of Directors with a capital of 500 million FCFA, the headquarters of SOAGA is based in Cotonou – Republic of Benin.

SOAGA started its activities in 2004 and is approved by the Regional Council for Public Savings and Financial Markets (CREPMF) under number SG / 03-04SOAGA.
