Synergy Capital Managers is a private equity firm specializing in expansion, growth capital, and management buyouts and/or buy-ins of private or public companies.

The firm prefers to invest in small and mid-cap companies and provides replacement capital to take out non-management shareholders.

The firm seeks to invest in West Africa with a focus on Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria (up to 75%) and Ghana (at least 25%). The firm seeks to invest between $2 million and $15 million. It prefers to take significant minority stakes between 25% and 50% in the companies but does not seek majority ownership.

It may occasionally take majority stake depending on optimal investment structure and if opportunity warrant. It takes a board representation. It typically makes a combination of equity and quasi-equity instruments. The firm prefers to hold its investment for three to five years. It seeks to exit its investments through self-liquidating instruments, selling ownership stake in the company back to the original owners/ founders/ management, leveraged/ management buy-outs, trade sale and IPO.
